How many customers do I need? It depends on the ad sizes you sell. If you sell just 3 pages of ads you will be able to cover the cost of your printing and mailing.

Do I need a license for this business? This business is no different than any other in home small based business such as selling goods on E-Bay or Amazon. My personal experience is as follows. I have never secured any licenses but listed my profits on my tax return and paid them accordingly.

How much do I charge for ads? Your selling price is dependent on how many papers you are mailing or the number of mailboxes in your particular zip code. If you have 10,000 in your zip code than your selling price is $100 for the 1/8 page ad shown in the sample paper promoting 1 cent per home. If you have 11,900 in your zip code than your selling price is $119 for the 1/8 page ad. For reference the average zip code is between 10,000 & 15,000 mailboxes.

Can I learn to do the ads & advertorials myself? Yes, I have been teaching entrepreneurs the graphics for 10 years now and everyone learns quickly & effortlessly via the Skype share screen application. I have taught people in their 80’s as well as many who do not know how to copy & paste. You can see a glimpse of a first session under the category and you will make a nice professional looking ad during our first session.

How much do I make? If you sell your ads according to my sample papers pricing (1 cent per home for the 1/8 page ad), which is how and why my students succeed effortlessly it would work out as follows. If your mailing (zip code) was 10,000 and you sold a 1/2 page ad for $379, your cost for this ad would be $125 since 10,000 12 page all color papers printed and mailed cost under $3,000 ($250 per page). Therefore your cost for a half page would be $125. If you sold the 12 pages of advertising (you charge more for the front & the back), you would take in about $10,000 depending on the ad sizes you sold. Your cost to produce (print & mail) these 10,000 all color 12 page papers would be under $3,000 leaving you with a profit of $7,000 per month. If your paper is 24 pages your profit would be $14,000 per month. The cost of mailing each paper is the same 18 cents per paper until your paper reaches 42 pages as the bulk pricing is based on weight not pages.

How much experience do I need to make money publishing a paper?

Are you a motivated self-starter? Publishers need to be comfortable dealing with & selling to small & medium sized businesses. The sample paper makes the selling easy, but can you do the leg work while I advise & lead you step by step via the same business model that I succeeded with as well as 100’s of my students over the years? If you are willing to do the work, you can succeed quickly & effortlessly.

I don’t know anything about designing ads or printing newspapers.

How long does it take to publish my first paper? Once you sign on as my student, it happens quickly. Your sample papers & manual go into priority mail the same day and the next day we are on the Skype share screen together designing ads. After our first session & once you have the samples in hand you are ready to start soliciting the local businesses. Many students have their first paper in the mail within 30 days of signing on.

How much capital, start up money will my business need at the beginning? You will not need any capital or start up money-ZERO! You will collect your deposits from customers once they approve their ads, and these deposits will more than cover the costs of printing & mailing.
